| The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly - Vancouver 4 Edmonton 1 |
|
A near perfect game in my opinion. Last night’s game against Edmonton was won by our pluggers while tonight’s game was clearly won by our stars. The Sedin Twins combined for an impressive 5 points in this 4-1 victory for the Canucks over the Oilers. ![]()
The Good: - it’s always good to start off a game with a fight: to bad it cost us Cowan for the game though - Markus Naslund/Ryan Kesler/Brendan Morrison line played great together - as already mentioned the Sedin Line was, again, on fire - the coach showing confidence in Ryan Kesler by playing him mondo minutes - the Byron Ritchie fight with Sheldon Souray: this is exactly what we are looking for from Ritchie (great trade off too: Souray got 17 minutes in penalties) - Luongo came up big again especially during those few shifts where Edmonton came on strong
The Bad: - Jeff Cowan’s leg injury (hope it’s not too bad) - even though Taylor Pyatt got a late goal I still would like to see more out of him
The Ugly: - Brendan Morrison’s give away in the 3rd period costing Roberto Luongo’s shut out - announcers Hughson and Simpson crying that the Canuck’s 3rd goal shouldn’t have been allowed...that Roloson was interfered with...it was plain as day that Roloson was knocked down by his own player and Naslund simply tripped over an already sprawling Roloson...even Ron MacLean and Kelly Hrudy agreed that it was NOT goaltender interference - Brad Isbister: okay, I know he didn’t dress tonight but that’s how bad he is – even in the stands he is a determent to this team
