| Three Questions with Matt Butcher |

Canucks Fanz Columnist Farhan Devji recently had the opportunity to have a chat with the son of long time NHL'er Garth Butcher, and current Vancouver Canucks prospect, Matt Butcher. Check out what Matt had to say, and stay tuned for "Three Questions" with Taylor Ellington and many more!
![]() 1. You scored 101 points in your final season with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL, and early this season, you've already surpassed your point total with the Northern Michigan Wildcats from last year. Are you making a conscious effort to improve your offensive production? MB: Last year was definitely a rough year for me offensively. I wouldn't say that I am making an effort to improve my offensive output, but looking to become a better all around player in general. If I'm able to do that, then I think the offensive numbers come in hand with all around play. 2. What is it like going through the process of becoming a professional hockey player with Andrew Sauauer, another Canucks prospect who made the jump to Northern Michigan from the BCHL? MB: Every once in while, Sarzy and I talk about the Canucks and our different experiences at the trainings camps and what not. Other than that both of us are really just here playing hockey and looking to reach the next level. It is definitely fun to have so many guys on the team coming from the BCHL. We are able to relate with each other much more. 3. Where do you see yourself in five years? MB: Hopefully I can see myself playing hockey still in 5 years! Other than that I just try to focus on the year ahead of me and what I can do to make myself better each year. Thanks again Matt! Discuss it in the "Three Questions with" sub-forum! |
