Three Questions with Taylor Ellington
Canucks Fanz Columnist Farhan Devji was recently privileged to have a short conversation with Vancouver's 2nd round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft ,Taylor Ellington. Read what the native of Victoria, British Columbia had to say, and stay tuned for "Three Questions with" many more!

Three Questions with Taylor Ellington

1. Growing up in Victoria, how much of a thrill was it to be drafted by the Vancouver Canucks? Does it motivate you that much more to know that you could very possibly one day dawn the Canucks jersey?

TE: It was the most exciting day of my life, being drafted by the team that you’ve grown up idolizing is a special thing. Seeing all the hard work that has been put in at the gym and at the rink pan out was a awesome feeling. It really motivates me that I could one day be wearing a Canuck jersey, they took a chance in drafting me and I’m going to work my hardest to make it to that level.

2. What is it like going through the process of becoming a professional hockey player with your teammate and fellow Canucks prospect Dan Gendur (see Three Questions with Dan Gendur ), who also calls Victoria home?

TE: Going through the prospect camp and tryouts this year with Dan was almost a little weird because we used to joke around about what if he got traded to Everett or if I got traded to Prince George, how cool it would be to play on the same team and now we both play for the Everett Silvertips and we both got drafted to the Vancouver Canucks. It definitely made everything a lot easier to go through it with Dan.

3. Your favorite player is listed as Chris Pronger. Do you think you play a similar style of game to Chris?

TE: In some ways he is a physical shut down defencemen who has a lot of offensive talent. My game right now is to be a physical shut down defenceman who has some offence, I’m always working on improving offence and it has improved.

Thanks again Taylor!
