| Nucks Prospects Speak Out |
|
Canucks Fanz columnist Farhan Devji caught up with three Canucks prospects after Day 3 of camp. Here's what they had to say: Michael Grabner: Who has been the hardest prospect to play against or that has impressed you the most so far? MG: There are a lot of good prospects out there, it’s really competitive. I think Edler is looking really good, he barely makes any mistakes. Raymond and Hansen are looking good too. I think it’s a great camp this year. Have the coaches talked to you at all about how you are playing or what they would like you to work on? MG: No they haven’t said anything yet. I guess I just have to wait and see what will happen. I am just trying to play my game, other than that I don’t make decisions. Juraj Simek: How do you think you have performed so far at camp? JS: I’ve been good so far. It’s the start of the season and I’m getting better from practice to practice. Have any of the coaches told you anything that they would like you to work on? JS: No they haven’t talked to me so far. Just the scouts told me that I’ve done great and stuff like that. Word is that you scored a beautiful goal in the Day 2 scrimmage. Do you want to describe it for us? JS: Well I came into the zone and the defenceman attacked me, so I made a spin around and went to the net. He was holding me and I couldn’t score, so I went around the net and passed it high then got it right back. I turned and went in and shot upstairs to the far corner. It’s tough to describe, but it was kind of like that. Julien Ellis: Which one of the forwards as impressed you the most so far? (With their shot, skill, etc...) JE: Mason Raymond. Have any of the coaches or scouts told you anything that they would like you to work on? JE: Just the strength of my legs. What is the intensity like around the guys? Is it pretty competitive or are their some guys joking around too? JE: It’s all joking around in the room, the competition is only on the ice. NOTE: Grabner, Simek, and Ellis will all move on to Canucks main training camp which is set to begin Wednesday. |
